Rebuilding After the Cyclone

On our trip to Fiji, we met with the manager of the preschool in the village of Nabortini. The last cyclone had left the building badly damaged, and repairs were desperately needed.

We sat down with the manager and put together a full list of what the school needed to reopen safely — from roofing and windows to basic classroom supplies. On an earlier trip in 2016, we’d delivered 50 pounds of school supplies directly and seen firsthand how thrifty and resourceful they are with what little they have.
